Such an inane question. Gas prices are up, groceries are up, automobile prices up, etc. I could not believe the gall of Clinton to say that we are better off than we were four years ago. Unbelievable that anyone would be dumb enough to buy into that one!

Poll results so far..
Thank you for voting!

The really sad thing is, by raw numbers, I **AM** better off than I was. i.e. my income is up.

BUT, expenses are up even more. I used to have extra money. We used to buy stuff because we just WANTED it, not NEEDED it. We used to do takeout or delivery 3-4 times a week.

Now, it’s scrimp, save, and use coupons. We don’t even order pizza unless we have a deal or a coupon. We’ve cut back on just about everything.

If someone told me, five years ago, that I’d be scrimping and squeezing every dollar at my current income, I’d think they were nuts. Now it’s just the sad truth. . .

You and I are in the exact same situation I see. My income is also north of where it was 4 years ago but I have to work significantly harder for it.

I am always willing to work harder for my family, but just because my income is up I hardly consider myself "better off".

When I can stop spending $150 a week filling up our 2 vehicles for the week and the $200/week at the grocery store for my family of 4; the "extra" fun money will return and then we will be "better off" once again.

How much of your “better off” status can be credited to anyone in the government versus how much can be credited to your own additional efforts to improve your situation?

(yes, that’s a rhetorical question)

I could push my company to have 10-12 new workers within six months, but will I do
that with the current admin? Nope. And there isn't a damn thing Zero can do about it.

I built it.

Dittos MaxMax

"I built it."

My Father built it; I currently maintain it; and my son will someday take the business through the roof - its the American way!

Likewise.

Polls, whether informal or formal, scientific or not, are political instruments and should be played as such.

Those who say “but it could be worse” will vote for obama but not tell anyone they did it.

Interesting story I noticed on Web Site:

" Emails suggest Axelrod leaned on Gallup after unfavorable poll"

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/09/06/emails-suggest-axelrod-leaned-on-gallup-after-unfavorable-poll/#ixzz25mKYdGI5

Appears the Corrupt, Chief Chicago-Thug "Enforcer" was attempting to exert some undue influence on Gallup with some not so subtle threats.

That's easy: In addition to the higher food prices as well as everything else, I feel the "pinch" the most when I fill up my van that I use for business

In 08 it cost me approx $72 to fill my (36 gal) tank.

Yesterday, it cost me $138.24, $56--or approx--80% more!

This question assumes that the government is the be all and end all of our lives. The American people dragged us back from the brink. We worked, invested, invented, created, produced, saved, borrowed, lent. Government-OBAMA-just held us back with regulations and spending.
Yes, I am better off. Not because of but in spite of O.

Ecclesiastes 10

1
Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.

2
A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.

I have always given Clinton a little credit for having some wisdom even though not much honor, but by the above scripture i see that he is just a lefty.

The left have came out of the closet on the homosexual issue, but are going into the closet where Obama is concerned,

Wonder if he is smart enough to see how it should insult him even if he is pro gay?
